Bulrush Transplanting

Bulrushes are a marginal aquatic grass-like plant that helps purify the water where they grow. Bulrushes remove a wide array of contaminants in the water including oil, bacteria, nutrients and organics.  Bulrushes can be difficult to transplant. In 2017 the Society participated in a project to transplant bulrushes into a wetland pond and to monitor the survival rate.
